The major functions transferred include: marriage license issuance, the performance of civil marriage ceremonies, fictitious business name filings and indexing, qualification and registration of notaries, as well as miscellaneous statutory issuance of oaths and filings. Same-day service is available for births to present Informational Certified Copies, however, are not available the same day. Births prior to will be mailed within 20 working days. If requesting birth certificates for events that occurred from through , please be advised that the copy may not be issued the same day.
These records will be requested from the State of California because the social security numbers have to be redacted. The delay for these records is approximately 3 to 5 days.
